Students of The Sullivan Dance Centre performed with The Charlotte City Ballet Company, Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the Festival of North Carolina Dance hosted by the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. The performance was held at the Stevens Center for the Performing Arts in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
The Festival of North Carolina Dance incorporated two days of master classes on the campus of UNCSA in classical ballet, pointe, contemporary, jazz, character and musical theatre. Dancers and their parents were also treated to the phenomenal Winter Dance performance that features students of UNCSA’s classical ballet and contemporary dance programs.
The Festival culminates with an evening of adjudicated performances of talented youth dance companies from all over the Southeast.
Our dancers with The Charlotte City Ballet Company performed Eugene Onegin Waltz choreographed by Melissa Hale Coyle and staged and rehearsed by co-Artistic Directors of The Charlotte City Ballet Company Melissa Hale Coyle and Lisa Leone.
These companies are chosen to perform by the Festival Adjudicator Jared Redick, Assistant Dean of Ballet for UNCSA and it was an honor for our dancers to be a part of this annual event.
It was a brilliant and beautiful performance for the company and we are so proud of you! For many dancers, it was their first Festival performance and we were thrilled with the level of your confidence and artistry!
What a rare and amazing gift to carry on the rich tradition of true classical ballet!
Congratulations Ladies! Well done!
