New for 2017!  Families of preschool & homeschooled children can experience the nurturing environment and quality technical instruction that define Sullivan Dance Centre by participating in a weekday program designed just for them.

Whether you are looking for an introduction to dance or have a mover that wants to seriously explore the performing arts, our program uses ballet technique and fundamentals as a foundation for strength, balance and creativity, while introducing other dance styles and the performing arts.

8-Week Winter Session

Tuesday, February 7 – Tuesday, March 28
Introduction to Dance! For Preschoolers
Ages 3-6
Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.
$120/8-week session

This 45-minute class is a fun and upbeat introduction to the fundamentals of dance with adventures in rhythms, composition, musicality, and the individual creativity that blossoms in this age group. Emphasis is given to help these little ones understand how their bodies can move and express in a variety of fun ways while developing positive dance habits.

Moving Through the Arts – Level I For Homeschoolers
Ages 7+ (Beginners welcome)
Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00  p.m.
$140/8-week session

While retaining creativity and musicality, Moving Through the Arts brings additional focus to classical ballet technique suitable for this age group. Using fundamentals from the Vaganova method, students will work to develop coordination and confidence in the entire body and to apply technique to their improvisation. In this group, students will also expand their knowledge of performing arts with literature, history and fun projects that will bring carry movement out of the studio and into life!

About the Instructor:

Rachel Lee Davis has taught and performed across the United States, Southern Europe and North Africa, bringing music, dance and theater to audiences and students of all ages.  Homeschooled as a child, she is now a homeschool mom, embracing the opportunity to integrate the arts across a dynamic curriculum.  We are pleased that Rachel is joining the Sullivan Dance Centre team to build our new Community Dance Program, bringing you and your child the experience of an integrated, artistic immersion into the world of performing arts.

Additional classes will be added as our Community Dance Program expands throughout 2017.  We hope you will join us on this adventure!
