Caitlin Meeks graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, Concentration in Choreography; Minor in English. During her time at UNCG, Caitlin choreographed and performed extensively and was regularly cast in contemporary work for UNCG’s Dance Theater.
After graduation, Caitlin performed with Martha Connerton’s Kinetic Works in Charlotte and was a featured performer in the Union County Youth Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker at Wingate University.
Caitlin has choreographed for the concert stage as well as for competitions and she has worked with both student dancers as well as professionals. She has been teaching since 2005.
In addition to her work with UNCG’s Dance Theater, her choreography has been performed by Charlotte City Ballet, Sullivan Youth Ensemble, Union County Youth Ballet, to name a few.
Caitlin has worked with a diverse array of master teachers and choreographers including Duane Cyrus, Jan Van Dyke, B.J. Sullivan and many more.
Caitlin graduated from the Sullivan Dance Centre in 2007 and was a member of the Charlotte City Ballet Company from 1998-2007. During her time as member of the Charlotte City Ballet Company Caitlin performed extensively including performances for the Festival of North Carolina Dance and Regional Dance America’s SERBA Festival.
While a member of the Charlotte City Ballet company, Caitlin’s choreography was chosen to be performed during the Emerging Choreographer’s Night at the Southeastern Regional Ballet Association’s annual event. This was a huge honor for Caitlin to have her work chosen and we are so fortunate that our students will have the opportunity to work with her this year.
